There
has been flower festival at St Mary and the Holy Rood for
over 40 years. Each year, after the festival has finished
and the flowers have been taken away our minds start thinking
on the theme for the next festival. When a theme has been
chosen by the ladies who arrange the flowers they each chose
a position and then start designing there individual display.
They spend many thoughtful hours deciding on what props to
use and what flowers they would like and what will be available.
This year the Ladies have chosen poetry as thier theme so
we are looking forward to seeing some wonderful displays next
April
Most
of the cost of the flower festival flowers is covered by the
great support of our sponsors and kind donations. The rest
we raise by organising events though out the year such as
Flower classes, demonstration coffee morning’s etc.
The aim of this site is not only to promote the flower festival
but also the events that are held though out the year to raise
money for the flower fund.
If
you are interested in flower arranging even if you have no
experience please contact us. All our ladies are willing to
help newcomers and are exceptionally friendly bunch. On behalf
of the ladies who arrange the flowers I would like to thank
